Back, Back, Way Back

27 Apr 2017

Greetings Everyone!

One of my favorite tee shirts that I often see locals wearing around town says. “New Orleans: So Far Behind We’re Ahead.” While I am sure that this slogan means something different to everyone, my personal interpretation has something to do with the laissez-faire attitude of New Orleanians, which one could rightfully argue has stunted our economic growth and agility while contributing to a civic complacency that overlooks important things like political corruption. But what New Orleanians may lack in productivity, they make up for in an abundance of connectivity. Having the capacity to slow down just enough to experience life through the senses, or to actually engage in conversation with a neighbor, is becoming an endangered aptitude in today’s world. We all know intuitively that our need to connect is a function of our soul’s yearning to belong. So in reality, backing up and slowing down are how you get ahead in the non-quantifiable realm of happiness.

Each one of our three new releases this week is an invitation for you to slow down… in order to feel more… in order to re-forge a connection with your authentic self. In Workplace Wellness: 12-Minute Tune-Up, you will come out of the ivory tower of your head and into your feet, legs, pelvis, spine, and shoulders. This is a fabulously efficient practice that anyone can do, anywhere, anytime to awaken the body and refresh the mind. Then in Back, Back, Back, you will engage in one of the most important alignment conversations in all of yoga: how to establish and maintain the natural curve of your lower spine. Simply stated, this practice is a boon for your back. And finally, in Back to Balance 2 you will journey to the core of your body by learning how to simultaneously lengthen and strengthen your legs in an energizing sequence of standing balance poses. Hope you enjoy!

Take care,
Geoffrey
