I recently saw a television advertisement that was seductively silly and curiously compelling. It featured people of all different shapes and sizes doing very mundane things like picking over produce at the grocery store, waiting in line at the bus stop, and folding laundry on the living room floor. Somehow music kicked on and these people started rhythmically moving their body in the ‘dance like no one is watching’ sort of way. Goofy gyrations of the pelvis, spontaneous shaking and swinging of the limbs, and facial expressions that indicated the joy of pure presence. It turned out to be a public service announcement with the slogan, “movement is the best medicine.”
