My favorite thing about the arm balance poses is that they help me to completely relax my arms. Not while I’m practing them of course; that would make me fall flat on my face. But afterwards, when I am resting in savasana or simply sitting in meditation, my arms feel deeply at ease and my heart feels light. If I have been “up in arms” about something that feels wrong to my particular sensibilities, then arm balances seem to discharge the negativity surrounding those emotions, and in so doing they restore my inner equilibrium. Check out our three new releases this week, and you’ll see what I mean. Each video is a short, step-by-step tutorial on how to approach an accessible yet challenging arm balance. Crane Pose, Handstand, and Elbowstand each require different actions in the arms, but their effect is similar. Namely, they energize and pacify the arms while emboldening the spirit. Try practicing all three poses in the order in which they are presented, or if you’re short on time, just pick one. Hope you enjoy!
